Goindwal Sahib
Considered to be the first pilgrimage site of the Sikhs, the Gurudwara Goindwal Sahib came up alongside the Baoli(well) with 84 steps. The baoli was first built by Guru Amardas Ji in 1559.
The popular belief is that the 84 steps to the Baoli represent 84,000 incarnations man has to undergo for the ultimate salvation from his mortal world. Reciting Japji Sahib on each of its stairs frees us of all this mortal cycle of birth and death. |
Khadoor Sahib
The historical Gurudwara is associated with the memory of Guru Angad Devji, the second master of the sect.
It's on this site that Guruji started compiling the preachings of Guru Nanak Devji in Gurmukhi Script and also it marks the site, where Guru Angad Dev Ji was cremated. |
